First, we gather the history and applicable assessments for our client’s background and presenting symptoms.
Next, we conduct a qEEG brain map, also known as quantitative electroencephalography, a diagnostic tool for assessing brain function. It involves recording and analyzing the electrical activity of the brain from the scalp level. A brain map is non-invasive and is simply a tool to ready brainwave activity. By placing sensors on the scalp, the EEG measures the electrical signals generated by the brain. The qEEG brain mapping technique takes the raw EEG data and uses advanced signal processing algorithms to analyze and map specific brainwave patterns. It visually represents the brain’s electrical activity, showing areas of relative strength or weakness in different frequencies and in which regions of the brain this activity is greatest.
These maps can help identify abnormal brainwave patterns associated with neurological and psychiatric conditions. The brain map results, and the client’s symptoms help guide the protocol for neurofeedback training.
